senator john kerry playing the role of governor romney. that's good for two reasons at least for the obama campaign because he knows mitt romney very well, coming from the state of massachusetts, but also is veteran debater himself. he's been helping the president out. now, the thing that we'll be watching for is what the real push will be from the obama campaign. and the romney campaign tonight in terms of their overall theme. as you know, it is all about domestic policies, so they're talking about the economy, about health care, about the role of government, what the president will do, according to top campaign aides is say, yes, look, the economy still has a long way to go. but it is in a much better place than it was and it is heading in the right direction. mitt romney will say that the president has had time to fix the economy, and there has been a lot of broken promises. so that's what we'll expect from both of the candidates as they take on each other tonight during the first debate. >> dan lothian reporting live from denver, cnn's
